That's the hatch into the underground museum. They had it open a few weeks ago to take some large equipment in/out. Looks like they are getting ready to cover it back up.

BTW there's another one further south between the vent buildings and the south pool, that one is for the chiller plant. It's in that space in the middle where there are no trees.

Every one, we are now above ground! look at the east side. on either side of the future door there are black steel pieces that have been attached to what look like bolts embedded in the concrete. The west side looks ready to receive its own pair.

I notice on the webcam that nobody is in the plaza today.

I'm getting tired of a$$holes blowing stuff up in the cities where I live.

What are they waiting for on the transit hub? It seems to have slowed down after that burst of activity installing the underground ribs.

The current plan is to move it to Liberty Park, a new park just south of the Memorial Plaza on top of the vehicle security center.

The plaza hatch to the museum is open again and they are preparing to lower something in there (an escalator?
Uploaded with ImageShack.us

They delivered 2 strange and complicated steel pieces that must be the arch abutments.

Also they are installing another lower portal (2 more left) and they put those 2 tent frames over the "doorways" on the East end (for welding?)
