Purely for comedy's sake, I hope the strike is just a ploy of all the rest of the concrete workers, carpenters, and other construction workers to feel what it's like to work on the site of The ONE for a few weeks...

Some more eye candy just released for the design described as: “The exoskeleton design creates a network of both functional supporting features, as well as decorative visual aesthetics”.

The first image shows the tower location north of AquaLuna (u/c) and near Parliament Slip, the site of a planned major waterfront face-lift (see below).

Rail Deck District | ?m | 70s | Craft Dev Corp | Sweeny &Co l pre-construction

The latest proposal to deck the rail corridor ups the plans from 8 to 11 towers, ranging in height from 12 to 70 storeys and provides a 2.5 acre park. 5,754 residential units are proposed along with 22,539 square metres of non-residential uses (retail, hotel, daycare etc.).

From the site plan, it is clear the proponents expect the city to look after (fund?) the bulk of parkland above the southern section of the rail corridor (similar to the city’s own concept for a “Rail Deck Park”). Obviously the city should (at minimum) negotiate the construction of the rail deck infrastructure with the developers, who are open to a private-public collaboration.

Chelsea Green | 283.53m | 86s | Great Eagle | a—A l rezoning approved

A resubmission this month to address outstanding site plan issues (a settlement offer for rezoning was approved more than 3 years ago). Most of the renderings below from the submission are pretty much the same as submitted previously.

Really like those last three! Shame that the best looking tower in Chelsea Green is the shortest one. That fluted glass base, as the kids say these days, slaps!

Toronto should just change it's name back to York to create further confusion. York City or New New York?

Toronto - amazing

Geez. Toronto is building like no city in the Western Hemisphere, as far as I'm aware. I was last there about 12 years ago and the transformation of the skyline from then to these recent pictures is hard to fathom.

What's driving the high rise growth? Is it limits on single family homes in the suburbs?
