I agree that the design is very polarizing but it would be an improvement to whats there now. The current Atlantic Place has always been a big blemish in its boring and drab architecture. A new hotel there will also benefit all the smaller businesses in that’s area that are are currently struggling to survive like gift shops and restaurants/pubs.

I would love to see this redesign happen some day if we ever get things back to normal.
Agreed. Haven't seen any news on it since it was conditionally approved.

Here is a link to a webcam from a local TV station that has a good eye on it.

I posted a Youtube video of the construction up to last fall. I should add some more footage
since the project is nearly complete on the outside.

Sorry, I posed to the wrong group, see the JAG group for my posting.
Is there a way to delete a posting?

I’ve noticed that the Brass Rack on Duckworth is getting renovated. Anyone know what might be going there?

Scanned the QR code in the window during the weekend that brought me to a very basic website. I forget the name of it, but it appears to be a restaurant.

Tely's Andrew Waterman had a story on it today. Vegan and dairy-free. Should do well with the downtown crowd.

So looks like someone else is gonna attempt to revive the old Majestic Theatre downtown. Good luck. Bob Hallet’s Terra Bruce Productions has purchased the property with intentions on turning it back into a 400 seat live theatre venue.

Found information on plans for the old RONA building on Torbay Road. It was sold last year I believe and there's been a little activity around there but not a whole lot. Looked up the address and stumbled across this link on KMK Capital. Its being converted to office space and apparently already has tenants.

I know the federal government had been interested in re-purposing such buildings as this one into office space but that was before covid sent employees home. Not sure how covid will impact the federal government’s real estate portfolio going forward.
