Ground Force of nature
Company to construct two more buildings, hire 100 new employees

Posted: Thursday, April 11, 2013 12:00 am

Ground Force of nature By JEFF SELLE/Staff writer The Coeur d' Alene Press

POST FALLS - Just as Ground Force Worldwide CEO Ron Nilson is getting his new 65,000-square-foot manufacturing facility up and running, he has plans to add another 40,000-square-foot factory and a 8,200-square-foot corporate office here.

"I'm going to hire between 100 and 125 new employees as well," he said, adding most of those jobs will be in the manufacturing sector, but also engineering and administration.

I'm super busy with various projects but here's a quick update:
1) 14 story building in downtown Cd'A is still on track. Building permits should be issued this summer, with work to begin in November and completion in June, 2013
2) 3 story Marriott Spring Hill Suites hotel is nearing completion. It is located in the Riverstone Development in Cd'A
3) A study is being undertaken regarding the possibility of buidling a 5,000 seat events center in the Riverstone Development in Cd'A

I'll try to add more later...

These are pretty cool in person too. There's a great little breakfast place called Le Peeps on the 1st floor of the right hand side. Beautiful view from the restaurant.

Coeur d'Alene Press: Lawsuit to Block High-Rise Condos Dumped

Posted by Jessica Murri on Tue, Sep 10, 2013 at 4:00 PM

The City of Coeur d’Alene prevailed last week in a lawsuit that was filed to stop a downtown high-rise condominium project on the corner of First Street and Lakeside Avenue. The judge dismissed the suit filed by the Coeur d’Alene North Homeowners View Preservation, LLC, on Sept. 5.

The plan is to build a 14-story condominium with the ground floor devoted to commercial space. According to this morning's Coeur d’Alene Press, the complaint stated that its construction would destroy views of Lake Coeur d’Alene, Tubbs Hill, City Park and the city of Coeur d’Alene for residents who have lived there for almost 30 years.

If the NIMBYS have a problem with the development, they can always pool their money and purchase the property.

This kinda reminds me of the condo owners complaints about that lived in the American Towers here in Salt Lake when the Wells Fargo Center was first proposed back in the 90's. They complained it would take away their views of the mountains. Rocky Anderson the mayor of Salt Lake at the time just told them its the nature of living downtown. Pretty much told them to suck it up and stop bitching about it.

Losing views of something as beautiful as Lake Coeur d'Alene would be tough, but downtown Coeur d'Alene sure does look good with the towers they already have, so a few more would be nice.

This looks like it will be an attractive building.

Coeur d’Alene Tribe Resort Expansion

http://mithun.com/projects/project_d...ort_expansion/

The Coeur d’Alene Tribe’s respect for their land and people is reflected in the transformational sustainable design that has redefined their resort and casino. Located in Idaho’s panhandle, the property first opened in March 1993. The latest LEED® Gold expansion, a $75 million resort includes a four star hotel, spa, two new restaurants and a “skycatcher” serving as a lobby and site connector. The new design:
