- Will have a large teaching space that can seat up to 100 students and several smaller education rooms
- Designed for around 200-250 students as well as visiting students from other universities
- Their goal is to establish a new world-class clinical and educational Eye Institute for the region
- Clinical research will continue and expand in the new downtown building
- Plans include a surgical wet lab, 4 operating rooms, conference rooms, and simulators
- Dedicated space for clinical trials and will be a federal and industry sponsored research center
- Will have a cafeteria open to patients and their families
- Designed to be easy to navigate for the visually impaired

- GAIA Conceptions, an organic clothing company, will relocate their headquarters, design center, and manufacturing operations to Winston-Salem in a space in this building
- Includes a 200 seat black box theatre and The Craneway arts venue space leading into the black box theatre
- The black box theatre and The Craneway can host a variety of arts and film programing
- UNCSA will open a Film Lab in the building, Sawtooth Arts Center will open a collaborative Textiles Lab in the building, and the Kenan Institute will open an expanded Creative Community Lab
- The building will host several community arts programs in dance, music, and theatre for people of all ages
