Rimouski - always love the pictures you share Tone. Very picturesque, and a great location. Room to continue to grow and fill in some of the parking lots. How’s the population growth and downtown development been the past decade? Can you hike out to the end of the mountainous point at the upper left of the photo?

It is part of the Bic national parc (parc national du Bic) which is probably one of Québec's best.

Here are some pictures (drop down):

Plenty of potential for Rimouski to grow and fill in! Too bad the highway hugs the shore though, that doesn't usually make for a pleasant beachfront.

I did a map in the Rimouski forum of downtown east side showing the location of current and future developments, i thought it might interest you guys.

Most of the area north of St-Germain street was made of landfill in the 60's and a light industrial park was planned there at the time, yes a waterfront industral park. Luckily only one light industry was ever built and thus the area stayed under utilized and is filling slowly since.

1. Riôtel - 12 floors - proposed

2. Havre de l'Estuaire phase II - 6 floors - demolition completed and start of construction summer 2022

3. Oméga Condos Urbains - 6 floors - completed spring 2022

4. Hôtel des Gouverneurs - future redevelopment

5. Old municipal garage - demolished for future redevelopment

6. Hôtel Rimouski - 5 floors - on hold foundations completed circa 2016

7. Old Cooprix center - demolished for future redevelopment

8. Îlot Sainte-Agnès - 9 and 7 floors - proposed 2022

Wow great pic! To get the sun lighting up Mt Baker and the moon behind at that scale is very cool!
