The core is almost taller than One Campus Martius now.

We desperately need a wider angled perspective of this. From the roof of the Book Tower would probably be perfect at this point.

Totally agree. I've stopped watching at this point because you can't really see much. Would love a wider angle.

^ agreed, great shots!

particularly the second one showing the tower starting to "pop" within the context of its surroundings.

And it will be more than half as high again as the Stott (~250' taller).

Will that jib crane continue to rise up with the floors then? Or will they move in a hammerhead crane?

in chicago, the crane a tower starts with is the crane it finishes with.

i can't remember a single project here where the crane type was switched out for another in the middle of construction.

so if that's anything to go by.........

That last shot is awesome. You can see how Huntington and Exchange both fit into the skyline there too.

I'll be going to Metro Detroit later this month and hope to make it downtown. I hope to get a good look at this development.

I will be downtown twice this month. Will take some photos from the roof of the Z Park Garage.

Are there other nearby buildings that allow the general public to go up to their top floors?

You can go up in 1001 Woodward's garage, though its hard to get good shots of the site from the top floor. Not sure about the other upper floors as I haven't tried them yet.

^Seems structurally topped out, since the steel forming the roof looks complete. From the official Hudson's Site website:

Agreed, the "jib" crane is a luffer crane, typically used in tighter areas where a tower crane cannot fit or swing around 360 degress. Highly unlikely this will be replaced as luffer cranes are just as strong/useful as tower cranes, and build like 90% of towers in urban centers like NYC.
