the biggest thing working against Windsor's skyline is the fact that Detroit's skyline is right across the bridge overpowering it... otherwise it's pretty decent. Could use a little more clustering and a taller tower in there. One of my pet peeves of some Canadian skylines is how spread out they are. ... those London pics also an example.

Agreed 100 percent.
The number of proposals that fall through is disheartening so I won't hold my breath with the new 28 story tower just announced by Farhi holdings

Windsor also only has 200k people lol

London is “improving” its density, but all around Richmond Row everything is getting put close together its hard to get good angles when half the buildings are blocked out

The city has 230k, but the metro is 430k.

True, I’m betting on it having a development boom soon. I mean the Tri Cities have had a larger metro pop than London for a while and they had essentially zero skyline until just a handfull of years ago

There are many high rises London has that cannot be seen from that vantage point.
London has more buildings over 10 stories than any other metro in NA of under 1 million.

Yeah thats what sucks about taking pics of London’s skyline. Theres practically no good vantage points, its basically essential to have a drone to get the good shots

Stopped in Saint John for the first time in over 10 years. Was not disappointed with what I saw!
The approach entering the city is quite impressive.

Saint John outshines much larger urban centres like Toronto when it comes to historically preserved architecture.

St. John is pitifully underrrated, as those photographs can readily testify. Amazing how such a small, industrial, slow-growing city is packed with a treasure trove of 1800s brick architecture.
Perhaps outdone only by Montreal and QC (and maybe, Trois Rivieres). Winnipeg has its great exchange district, but I believe that dates from the early 1900s, as does Gastown, and much of what remains of the old Toronto.

It seems like such a concentration of the buildings. I've only driven through part of Saint John (and not the core, but the highway skirting it all, after taking the ferry from Digby NS) but clearly it deserves a day-long walkabout.

A number of those old gals look like they can use a bit of sprucing up. Has that been happening? Are they generally in good condition inside, such that the outsides aren't much of a worry? Here in Hamilton we continue to see similarly scaled buildings getting makeovers, but in many cases the innards have to be gutted as part of the process and the latest redevelopments tend to have modern additions.

Ya those old red bricks look like they have smoke damage or something. Hopefully just a pressure wash would do the trick.
And they even put bricks on the street? Definitely the red brick capital of Canada!
Around here red brick is just for the "old firehall" type of buildings but not all over town. Not used to that much red brick.
