scaffolding coming down

Hi Timbad,

Great shots, as always! It's amazing to see how quickly the neighborhood is changing, and we are so excited to meet all our new neighbors! The Grand Opening of the new Nancy and Stephen Grand Family House is set for Wednesday, March 2nd, so we hope to see you there!

on Thursday, I had rare occasion to be out and about during morning hours, so got some photos from angles, or at least with lighting, I don't usually get.

the 'towers' of Mission Bay

looking north from UCSF

Kaiser and its neighbor

from the Rutter roof

the Rutter views, west to east

at Fourth and China Basin they were installing streetlamps

another random Fourth St shot

block 1 construction

they seem farther along at the SW corner

not sure if we'd seen this rendering; this is hanging on a construction fence:

another sign they are getting closer to wrapping up the Owens work (and hopefully open Mariposa Park): they've put in the trees along the north side of Mariposa:

Kaiser visible at the end of Gene Friend Way

and these are from earlier today... Gene Friend Way from the South Street garage roof

and part of the future Uber site. a 'before' shot

UCSF is proposing another neurosciences building at Mission Bay, this one on Block 23A, directly west of the Third Street parking garage. 270,000 square feet, $336 million. Would open in 2020 according to preliminary schedule.

people have starting to move into Arden, even as work continues on the final touches to the structures. here is the current state of Long Bridge St looking NE, with Arden on the left

the sidewalk has opened on Arden's side of Long Bridge:

closer-up

Channel St on the north side is not open yet.

the east end of Long Bridge, where block 5/MB360 (on the right) is wrapping up as well. the street still needs to be paved

here's a look at block 7 as seen from between the Diller Cancer building and Cardiovascular building on UCSF campus, with Family House on the right

block 7W along Fourth St

the Rutter views

I'll throw this in here. excavation looks about done at 2051 Third St, just south of Mariposa

the Exchange

I'd been wondering why nothing was going on on the site of the Exchange on Owens. thought it might be that they were waiting for the construction on Owens itself to die down. but it appears there was a dispute over transit impact fees that was/is delaying it.

some shots of Mariposa Park and the new Owens St next door, from the hospital garage roof looking south into Dogpatch and Potrero Hill. west to east:

random shot looking up axis of Fourth St from the bike path in front of the hospital

block 1 construction, Mission Creek shore, as seen from Fourth St Bridge

and from AT&T Park promenade, looking west toward Third St Bridge

it's hard to see in this pic, but activity (earth-moving) has started up on-site in the last few days

the Rutter views from last weekend

Family House on Third

and along Mission Bay Blvd, with the rest of block 7

similar view

block 1 construction. SW corner, Fourth and Channel

as block 5 wraps up, the view from the walkway on block 13 is settling into its final state

the NW end of Long Bridge St has been paved. Reveille coffee shop is about to open on the corner of Long Bridge and Fourth

so was China Basin St

the playground is still not open

people have definitely moved into Arden. lights on at night. but still getting finishing touches around the edges

wider

and wider

downright panoramic

Fourth St

from the barren blocks farther south. there was a building permit notice on the fence of block 6 on the left. the block has recently been mostly cleared after being used as a staging area for the block 5 construction

I have only seen info about block 6E, does anyone know if there are plans for 6W as well yet?

pretty sure the permit refers to the 6E project we are familiar with. I don't know anything about 6W

Family House scaffolding is down

We are SO excited to share this photo - the original artist's rendering compared with the view yesterday - for the first time, all the scaffolding is down from the new Family House!

We'd love to have you all join us for the Grand Opening on March 2nd - please RSVP at http://www.familyhouseinc.org/openhouse.html and check out our new Home Away from Home for kids undergoing treatment at the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital at Mission Bay.

And shout out to Timbad who's been sharing all the great photos of our progress in the last 18 months!

Very nice. I'm assuming the mesh screen and metal awnings haven't been installed yet on the corner?
