^^^actually, although i hate to say it, i think his rendering is pretty accurate as far as the final height and appearance from that perspective is concerned. now as far as mixing up the South Side with the East Side, well thats another matter....

nice rendering however it won't even be facing that way. The cut outs will only be seen north and south.

Office buildings tend to be steel, residential tend to be concrete. (Comcast does have a concrete core.) Concrete buildings sway less, which is required if you're going to live there rather than just work there. There are a bunch of other reasons that I can't remember right now.

So kind of an unrelated question if I may.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the glass? (for one thing it just needs to be cleaned) But it seems REALLY transparent to me whenever I walk by it. It is going to be like that all the time, and if so was there a reason for it, cause it seems someone odd to me since most high-rises use much more reflective type glass.

It doesn't seem like they are ready for a June 18th topping out ceremony.

I talked to one of the steelworker foremen today. He said that they are working weekends now and that they will
still be there for "a while," but I'm not sure how long that will be. As someone suggested, the topping out may just
be the first of many vertical beams to reach the top level.

Some shots from tonight:

I love how the skyline is so huge, and the bridge is tiny compared to the tall ones. Its kinda like driveing towards tall mountains with small house next to it.

(Used MJ's last shot.)
As I see it there are three possible lenth predictions, hopefully its the highest one.

Sweet pic but it's going to look even better when RATR is finished.

MJ - awesome pics! CC is seriously massive. Even though it's about the same size 1lib, it's not even taller, but i don't know, it looks so much bigger, because the top floors are occupied by floors not a point.

Also MJ the one pic taken of the skyline from afar, that one is really cool cuz from that distance, you can't even tell CC is under construction it just looks like a part of the natural skyline. i love it.

As great as those photos were Gio, that first one of the city flag and the facade was the best. Forward, ho!

MJ, will you still be in that apartment long enough to see the building through exterior finishing? Will be a shame to not have the final result to compare to all of your other patented updates.

I'm not positive, but i think concrete may also isolate sound a little better so when my damn sub woofer goes kickin' at max volume the people below me won't be pounding the ceiling with a broom. I'm not an engineer nor do I claim to be an expert on the subject, but I'm pretty sure this is another reason.

I want to move out, and back to the city, as soon as possible, but I don't think it will happen for another 3-6 months. I've been traveling out somewhere every Monday and back every Friday for work, so on the weekends I've had too much other stuff to do to be able to apartment/condo hunt.

Definitely. The building I live in is all concrete between the apartments, and you dont hear very much. My other thought was that steel allows for more openness for windows and interior space, which is desirable in office buildings.
