Stunning works! Unbelievable is right. I really like the aerials, they really show the way Hamilton is built, I also like the shots that kinda give a look of a Communist Russian city, it looks really neat.

You know how to capture Hamilton well, some might complain at the grit, but I think you photograph it tastefully and not to mention it's so different from relatively clean and clear of grit Alberta. The Rust Belt (of which I think Hamilton is included) is fascinating!

Nice! The one of all of the layers (CFL stadium, church, steel mills, bay, bridges, lake, Burlington) is really cool.

Now, the question is, why weren't these shown before?

Nice shots.

I hope you're not doing the kind of thing a band might do, release a whole load of previously unheard material (or unseen in your case) and then retire!

This corner unit used to be a very good and atmospheric little music venue called "Raven." In 2002 I saw Damo Suzuki there. He was transcendant. It was the best live music show I've ever been to.

Some excellent photo's once again.

I don't know if you have anything from the newer areas of the city. Maybe of the areas above the escarpment. So that people who live outside of the city can see the contrast between the older areas below the escarpment and the more recent development of the city above the escarpment. I am afraid that some people viewing the photo's may get the idea that the whole city is stuck in the 19th century. The areas represented in these photo's represent less than half of the urban area.

Masterful set, Flar. You could make a book, or eight books.

This one is special:

Don't worry about people's impressions. Flar has been doing tours all over Hamilton, good along with gritty. We all 'get it'.

I was going through some old photos on my computer and these are just some I overlooked or were cut from older threads. I ususally post 60 or 70 pics in a thread, but I'll often take up to 200 shots when I go out for a neighbourhood tour. So, I have many, many photos that have never been posted.

This building was occupied by a pub called Gallagher's last time I saw it.

The older parts of the city are most interesting to me. For those interested, I did a few tours of newer areas, including a feature on suburbia, another on mid-century modernism, and one on big box stores. I also did tours of Ancaster, Burlington, Waterdown and Stoney Creek that show a mix of old and new. But for the most part, Hamilton Mountain and other suburban areas are not that interesting for photo tours. They look very much like suburbs of any other North American city. Something that would be interesting is to start at downtown Hamilton and head east to Stoney Creek, the decade to decade changes from 1800s to the present are really apparent along that corridor.

These are brilliant... you have clearly proven yourself a master of all types of urban photography. I really love the shots of orange brick houses in the snow... reminds me of Columbus, OH.

that shot of toronto is staggering...

as always, hamilton is more than surprising, and appears much larger than it actually is in your shots. (which are always some of the best)

The gardens are part of the Royal Botanical Gardens. There are several gardens spread over about 2700 acres at the western tip of Hamilton Harbour and Cootes Paradise. http://www.rbg.ca/pages/more_about_history.html
