Can't say I'm a fan of the design... but hopefully they'll at least start on this soon.

I AM liking the rooftop penthouse balcony space though - perfect to look down onto the park and view parades and concerts and whatnot, like the old days.

That part on the bottom left is meh though.

I really like the rounded portions. Makes a modern connection with the old.

That actually looks quite good, much better than I expected based on the previous elevation.

If we see Core Urban-level treatment of this restoration and addition this will be absolutely great.

Looks really good.

And it's about FA-KING TIME!!

Any new whisperings about the supposed tower on this block that I seem to vaguely recall Blanchard et al hinting at?

Unless they simply decided not to update that part of google street view.. although I have noticed that disturbing trend in other parts of the city, where they just don't bother to repair the external window areas or cornices..

Still it's nice to see those buildings in their original form. Still unimpressed with the "modern" looking one where the zebra building used to be, but eh.. it's better than nothing I suppose.. just very out of character with the rest of the period looking styles.

I woulda preferred the stucco and white facade the one 2 to the right from it is getting - looks pretty nice.

Interesting exchange on Twitter about this. Appears that construction is imminent?

*holds breath*

they better do it before the years of neglect cause it to collapse.. the fact that it's been left to rot right in the downtown for so long is a travesty..

Do this and do it properly and I'll take back all the nasty things I said about you, Mr Blanchard. Well, almost all of them...

Anyone have any updates on this? Scaffolding has been up forever with zero movement.

Theyve condemned it to slowly rot and collapse on its own..

Can't the city force movement on this development here or expropriate the property and sell it for cheap or give it away to anyone willing to develop here? How can such an eye sore site for so long at one of the most prominent locations in the city, plus it must be a safety issue too!

I saw workers from the back a few months ago but it's been silent every time I've gone by since.

Blanchard has passed Vranich 1.0 on the Procrastinator Developers list... closing in on Stinson.
