I doubt it's related but The Local is a restaurant/bar in Halifax. Maybe they got permssion to use the name for a similar idea spot?

I've heard East Side Marios & Coras and another was Pizza Delight and ??. Not sure anymore! There was a sign across the street for franchisees for ESM but who knows now!

John Yeo Drive ??

I'm not sure if there is anything going in this circled area but the land has been leveled and prepped for
something. Maybe it will be paved, I don't know, or maybe I'm just speculating on a build. Has anyone heard anything?

UPEI South Building

The steel for the south building is continuing. Notice the top floor is higher than the rest.

A Starbucks inside Atlantic Superstore on University Ave has opened now.
The sort you might find in a large mall.

PEI Capital Budget

All figures over five years:

$145 million for Hillsborough mental health campus
$36.2 million in social housing construction
$36.5 million for repairs & replacement of bridges
$25.3 million for health facility capital repairs
$19.7 million for healthcare hubs
$14.7 for women’s correctional unit
$10 million for perimeter highway project
$4.3 million for upgrades to the Mark Arendz Provincial Ski Park for the 2023 Canada Winter Games
$42.1 million for a new Stratford School
$25.2 million for a new Sherwood School
$46 million for school construction, renovations
$31.5 million for purchase of new school buses, including 12 electric buses
$870,000 for electric vehicle charging stations
$5 million for active transportation km

Nice to see Stratford receiving money for a Jr high school. Sherwood School is going to be replaced and West Royalty added onto.
The worst part of all this is the stupid roundabouts on St Peters Rd between MacRae and MacWilliams Dr. Can they not build a decent overpass/underpass
setup. They left it too long and now there is no land to build it. Hire out-of-province engineers that know how to build it correctly.

I don’t mind that so much as the $20m they spent in the diverging intersection horsecrap that they built this summer. They should be going to the feds and saying we need a divided highway around this city and we needed by it by 2010. Some of it wouldn’t even be that hard to to. From brackley point road to the hospital you could do for probably 80m. From Brackley Point Road to the North River Road overpass, it would take a lot longer. There would have to be a lot of earth moving in this section because of the elevation changes.

Phase 1: Build an exit at St. Peter’s Road where the TCH goes under St. Peter’s Road. Then have the TCH go over an overpass at Kensington Road which would be connected to Patterson Drive. Divide the whole thing from Brackley Point Road to Kensington Road with a concrete median similar to the east side of Wheeler Blvd in Moncton.

Phase 2: Eliminate the traffic lights going on to Patterson Drive and have a pedestrian crossing at this location. Relocate the off ramp and add an on ramp at Acadian Dr/Pioneer Ave. You could build an overpass at the Hospital but since it’s moving into a slower area a roundabout would potentially also work. Divide the whole thing from Kensington Road to the QEH with a concrete median similar to the east side of Wheeler Blvd in Moncton.

Phase 3: Build an exit at Brackley Point Road with a connection over to Friar Drive. The TCH would go under Brackley Point Road. Divide the highway with a concrete median halfway to Mount Edward Road.

Phase 4: Raise up the TCH to go over Mount Edward Road and under Malpeque Road. Have a full exit at Malpeque and an eastbound on ramp at Mount Edward Road. Divide the whole section with a concrete median.

Here is the proposed roundabouts on St Peter's Rd. Glad I live in the city! Worst highway system I've ever travelled on. They really blew it!

there's a place called the Local going in next to Maurices so that's likely the location.

Incredible how little they dedicated for housing.

I see there is a "For Lease" sign in the window so who knows what is going in the Local now. We'll have to wait and see now.

That’s really big news! I love the idea of having the High School, Middle School and hockey arena as well as other sports fields in a campus together.
