MISSISSAUGA | Absoluteworld | 585 FT | 56 FLOORS | 525 FT | 50 FLOORS

Mississauga is Toronto's western suburb, and it is also the biggest Toronto suburb with about 730,000 residents...there have been quite a number of high-rise condos built there over the last 5 years or so, but none quite so unusual as these 2 towers - both currently U/C......

Absoluteworld was part of an international design competition, and was won by Yansong Ma of Beijing-based MAD architects....these two towers may be the most radical underway in Canada at the moment...the first came to market in 2006, and sold out almost immediately - it was dubbed the "Marilyn Monroe" by the local press, and the name stuck...

Due to the success of the 1st tower, a 2nd curving tower was added, and it, too is nearly sold out....both are currently under construction...

These are part of a larger development which includes 3 previous nondescript towers...

here are some renders....heights in the title are from urbantoronto.ca, although I believe the actual finished heights may be a bit taller...

"Marilyn"

both towers...

construction pics to follow!
