Spoke to someone last year who was on a crew doing interior work and he said there were some major issues that would take a long time to fix.
Could explain the delay in opening, but I don't know the veracity of what he told me.

not good. seems like this project is plagued for whatever reason. shouldn't be the case since there's nothing remarkable construction-wise with this project. i speculate when all is said and done, someone will sue due to the delays. gotta cost someone big money to not hit deadlines in the real estate industry.

There was a problem with the windows being the wrong size, from what I remember.

Like many of you, at first I hated the grey wall until I read in Philly Magazine it's actually supposed to be an abstract reference to the battleship New Jersey (built in the Navy Yard) and constitutes the 1% of the construction budget that must be devoted to public art.

If that's true, this building pays more homage to Philadelphia than we thought. The top structure where it gets all jagged is based off the cliffs of the Schuylkill, where the gray metal and blue glass meet is wavy like water to refer to the River

Every time I go to New York and see that they can build skyscrapers while keeping the sidewalks open I wonder what’s the matter with our fair city.

Because the City doesn't require it and it's easier for the developer? Kenny campaigned on that issue during his first campaign.

You must not be a pedestrian very often. The issue is not trying to access what will be constructed. If you are traveling on the north side of Chestnut Street coming up on 15th Street and your destination is on that same side of the street, say at 13th Street. You need to cross and then cross back - it's an inconvenience and depending on the weather, a pain in the a**. if you are elderly, disabled, or are pushing a stroller, it's an even bigger issue.
