On safari in Kenya

A few weeks ago I made a trip to Kenya - sadly due to the political troubles, I had to leave much earlier than planned but what I saw of the country was truly amazing. I must add that I have never been in a friendlier nation than Kenya, and it is incredibly disappointing and heartbreaking to see what has gone on in the country in recent times.
Anyway, here are some photos I took of the wildlife on safari in Samburu National Reserve. Hope you enjoy!

Nice pictures. Hopefully the political turmoil won't have any lasting damage.

These are so good, they look fake. As in, they seem so close to the subject, it is hard be believe this is in the wild and not a zoo.

Wow, amazing photos! You must have been lucky seeing so many animals - or is it what you normally get to see?

I hope everything settles in Kenya and that it gets calm and stable - first of all for the people livning there, but also so I can go on a safari like this some day.

It's amazing how close you can get to the animals. Obviously you can't leave the car as the park exists first and foremost for the animals, but they generally seem to have no qualms about having humans in their midst. However, like any wild animals, they're more comfortable about showing themselves if there aren't too many humans around.

I think we were quite lucky to see so many animals. The lack of other people might have had something to do with it - most people cancelled their trips because of the political trouble. Of course, some of the other reserves (particularly Masai Mara) have an even greater concentration of wildlife but unfortunately our trip was cut short before we could get there.
