I mean, I know it's not some beautiful masterpiece of architecture, but that's ok. I actually prefer the rigidity and simplicity of its design and the imposing form of it.

It's been listed as 65 floors for a while. The 848 foot set of building elevations list the 66th level as being the main roof. I believe there's an amenity level of some sort on the main roof (the 66th level) - so that might be the true top floor if it's open to the building's tenants and residents. I believe the 67th level, which isn't actually numbered in the elevations, is most likely mechanical.

The site plan hasn't been approved yet, so we can still change it once we see the final elevations once it's approved and released.

One of the rare times I actually disagree with you, Kevin. (The second sentence... I agree with the first.)

Yeah, 67 is mechanical, and there is no 13th. So 65 is the actual floor count.

Y'all need to remember the Tower of the Americas was designed for the 1968 World's Fair (aka HemisFair). At that time, it was a futuristic and design-forward structure. Nobody would have imagined where skyscraper design and technology would be today ~55 years ago when they began to design this tower. Give them a break.

Furthermore, I'd love to hear your pitch on selling the taxpayers of SA to spend the millions on a renovation of this tower (easily more than $100M to make any significant change to the tower). Where is the return on that investment (other than making it prettier for some)?

Off soapbox...can we get back to talking about 6xGuad now, please???

You may still be in luck, Genral. On their last day of business only, they are offering a 5% discount. Just image, you, a significant other, and an uncountable amount of bedbugs and a staff that really doesn't give a shit.

More often than not with hotels. But it's rare with residential and office towers.

I'm pretty sure Cousins Properties' office buildings don't have 13th floors. The number 13 isn't just unlucky for Americans. There are a lot of foreign countries that consider it very unlucky. If you are trying to attract foreign capital to invest in or buy your project, it can actually make a difference. Particularly if that capital is Asian.

But just think, you could trash the room like a rock star and it wouldn't matter (check with the front desk staff first).

Think of all the free mini-soaps you could walk away with. And so many individual shampoo and conditioners!

SO MANY GIDEON BIBLES.

ATX, that's freakin funny! So is the 5% discount. Just the other day I wiped my butt with $6 and threw a quarter in the toilet afterwards for good luck. They should be throwing a free party for a send off like Pitch and Putt.

Not affiliated with this project but a friend of mine let me glance at a construction schedule. Looking like mid to late September demolition and mid to late October start of excavation. He assured me this thing is good to go

Whenever I drive by a section of the highway under construction, I always see one dude working and three others standing there watching him, so I'm gonna go with "yes".
