There was a building (restaurant space) planned, I believe, for the open area at the bottom of this picture (photo credit: connect2source). A bit harder of a deal now, since Cactus Club has grabbed the high ground above it, but hopefully someone will fill this gap.

Wonder what T&B will think if people start locking their bikes on there...

I wonder what the people in Coal Harbour think about the relocated plane dock, now that it's been relocated a few metres away instead of the distance they were expecting.

You have to hand it to Tap & Barrel. Looks like another amazing new addition to the Vancouver patio scene:

Amazing patio, pass it on the way to Club 16, it's getting very tempting to skip the workout and grab a pint!

I live in Coal Harbour very near the old Seaplane Terminal.

Most Harbour Air operation are literally 'feet' from where they used to be, so the noise is about the same, the move, to me, is all about aesthetics, I've been waiting for years for the 'trailer park shantytown' to be removed and the seawall connection completed so I'm a happy guy as are many of my neighbours. The seaplane noise is almost a part of the local culture, I have no problem with it.

Excellent. Sounds very reasonable to me.

So true. Their food is such a let-down.
Then again, everybody knows the rule about the quality of patio food being inversely proportional to the quality of the view...

Anyone know what is going on at the end of the plaza? Right in front of the flame, on the street, they are erecting these huge wooden structures.

Well there is a large Japanese anime convention going on this weekend for three days. Perhaps it's for the convention?

Can't say, they made everyone sign confidentiality contracts, but a couple of the workers have already been termed for talking, so it's out there.

I asked one of the workers today what they were building--couldn't get anything except that it's for a month long event coming up.

Is the wooden structure has something to do with BMW X5 promotion?

The front "white" side of the structure now has a sign displayed "THE NEW BMW X5."
