So I just talked to someone at True North. Apparently the screen was actually supposed to be up in time for Jets playoffs, and they keep saying "it's almost ready" but keeps getting delayed. They said its had something to do with the size and shipping... that's just what I was told.
I don't understand why the taxpayer-funded fountains in the square aren't on 31 degrees today.. I'm sure someone would have frolicked through them joyfully!

Not doubting you at all, I just don't understand this excuse. It isn't an actual TV. These screens now are all modular in 2x2 panels (not sure on the exact size). The overall screen can be as large as someone can dream up.

Speaking of big screens, one of you guys might know this. On the east side of the MTS Centre near Graham, there are a bunch of brackets on the wall that look like they were intended to have something mounted to it. I always assumed it was for a jumbotron (kind of like the Portage Avenue one) that was never installed... can anyone confirm?
^ I can't wait until the south side sidewalk on Graham opens up! I presume that they will then fix up the debacle on the north side sidewalk along that block.
