Dmajackson didn't have a thread listed in the "Halifax Developments List and Map", so there probably isn't a separate thread.

It should be noted that 303 Washmill Lake includes a commercial building which is in excavation to the left of the apartment building.

If this was on the peninsula, HRM planners would be hailing it as the solution to downtown's problems.

Those pics are like porno for planners. They want everyone to live on the peninsula in those kind of places, just not in a view plane.

Burnside Ramada

Kind of meh news but here it is anyway....

"The Burnside hotel currently known as the Park Place Ramada will be shut down this week and reopened this summer as the region’s first Delta Hotels by Marriott.

The owner of the hotel, the Armour Group, announced in a news release on Monday it will be renovating the aging hotel off the Circumferential Highway “back to its studs” after closing it this week. The hotel will reopen as the 180-room Delta Hotels by Marriott – Dartmouth this summer."

I haven't been inside the Ramada for a few years but I can imagine it is probably pretty tired by now. While it has great visibility from the Circ, actually getting to it is a bit of a bother and I always found the parking lot to be undersized.

During the first decade it was open my employer had a thing for having events there. I guess they were cheap. It had the distinction of serving the absolute worst banquet catering food I had ever consumed back then. We're talking sandwiches with a single slice of cold cuts, watery soup, etc. It was stunningly bad.

These are from Governor's Brook in Spryfield, not sure if it has its own thread. This subdivision is interesting in that they abruptly switched architectural styles partway through (this has happened in a few others including nearby Long Lake Village)

The Retail Council of Canada has their annual shopping centre study out and on the future in the Maritimes they mention the redevelopment of the mixed use Penhorn Lands and this interesting blurb about Mic Mac Mall
