It's part wedding cake, part moai, part ice cube. I like it.

Looks good to me. Though it's a bit unclear how it will fit into the current VAG site plan - if it's being built directly beside the old building or something I could see how that would be a bit overbearing in an unattractive way.

Building Number 4: The architectural equivalent of Swiss Chalet’s white chicken. Dry flavourless and guaranteed to make you feel empty inside.

I’m gonna one up these with one of the blandest, most colourless, soul sucking buildings built in Toronto, The Sheraton.

Great descriptions.

Also in the same neighborhood (Griffintown): a new U-Haul storage unit... Oh no wait, that's a new co-op building...

I'm really unimpressed by Griffintown and it's new construction, although I'm sure the neighbourhood is fine to live and work in.

The VAG looks like it's missing something. Didn't it used to be covered in wood?

It has the same colour scheme of a KFC. But yes it’s just about as utilitarian and soulless as a U-Haul storage unit. Although a part of me prefers U-Hauls.

Looks more Polynesian to me. Moai or just a tiki kind of statue.

But VAG is definitely a terrible name. Rebrand please. Art Gallery of Victoria. AGV. Name it after someone. Emily Carr? Surely there are options.
