Dont' recall that the developer's website was posted here for the big project, but here it is for those that haven't seen it as a de novo look...LOL. I'm really hoping Temple Medicine or other health science disciplines takes a big chunk of this development. Wait and see....

Oh, and do we have a thread yet for it?

That reminds me, does anyone know the story behind the currently up to 10 stories perpetually under construction site at 932-34 Arch St (aka 43-49 N 10TH ST, following a lot consolidation). Really strange cinderblock and steel construction and the permits in atlas have been continually evolving for years. Yet another zoning/use permit issued last month for yet another addition, without having ever completed the original structure. Seems like it's been at *least* a decade and has been a total eyesore.

I really feel like that building is being constructed by only a few people by hand. I have never seen a building go up slower.

If you have too much time on your hands, check out the streetview links using google's time machine feature to step through the earlier views. Amazing! They started with a 5-story overbuild on the 1-story 232 Arch only, with the store on the ground floor remaining open while they built. Not until sometime after June 2014 did 234 Arch become involved and it appears they then added additional stories to their previous work on 232 as well. I vaguely recall reading years ago of L&I shutting down an Arch St overbuild that someone attempted with no permits; I'm thinking this is that, although now with several rounds of permits.

There was a Naked Philly blog on this about 2 years ago..

http://www.ocfrealty.com/naked-phill...ding-10th-arch

If it keeps growing, perhaps it will eventually get its own thread

These are great smaller projects that help line Chestnut into the core of the city.

Whew. That's an improvement on the last iteration of 4000 Market. Say what you want about brick, it can improve the blandest building.
