I sure hope it's expansion. It's not much of a gain unless they are adding more employees that they couldn't really fit in Renaissance. I'm kind of actually surprised this is the first tenant signed.

It s a relocation to block 23.

"Ernst & Young’s new office will be located on the top floor of the six-story building. They will be relocating from their current location at Renaissance Tower in January 2019.”

Sorry! I was in a hurry and seen it from across Jefferson. It was blue'ish glass from the angle I was at.

You can also see that they are starting to install the facade on the inside courtyard for the residential side, via the webcam

Maybe someone with a little construction knowledge can answer these questions.

I circled in red a seam in the building, I assume this is because there needed to to be a flex point in the building, but does anyone know the answer?

What is circled in pink?

While we're at it, where are the elevators going to be located on the office portion? I see what may look like a possible elevator area towards the left, but it looks like the floor might be solid. I see nothing indicating elevators elsewhere.

Sent the photo to a buddy that is a structural engineer and has done a few towers. He says it looks like the shaft is on the left side - and that its covered so people don't fall down a few floors accidentally.

The pink side he said looks like drainage for a low roof with green space. Was that supposed to be on the building? I don't recall the renderings...

Snapped a quick update of Block 23 today. 1 level of façade is completed on the North side.

Last vertical concrete pours are underway for the final level of the office portion.

So, I have a question for the concrete construction guru's. If they ever decide to add additional floors in the future, exactly how is this accomplished since the rebar is now getting placed at a 90 degree bends for the roof level? How would vertical rebar be added in the future to support additional floors? Is the existing concrete just drilled and vertical rebar added and then 're-concreted'? Just curious on this process as when I moved here, Palomar was already completed and they had just begun adding the residences on top of that. I haven't really seen additional floors added to current towers in other cities and I'm not familiar with how it is done.

Sounds like if they are seriously planning more floors, they'd add rebar couplers in place and kept the rebar straight - or installed additional rebar with the couplers so they can continue.

The couplers look something like this:

https://www.erico.com/catalog/literature/RSB-WWEN.pdf

So unless we've missed something - or there's more work to be done - seems unlikely they'll add additional floors.
