What has humanity decayed into?

We have become failures at building and living in even mediocre spaces.

These photographs are not of Italy, certainly not of Florence--that is anywhere.

Extremely disturbing, but thank you for your photographs.

I think I may have stayed in a hotel in that area several years ago. Is in along the main highway from the norh just before the city?

Some photos of the urban core of Florence would be nice. I was there in 2000 but don't have any digital or scanned photos. The density is pretty incredible.

I'll do just that... I was there less than a month ago.

I was being metaphorical, everyone.

I know these photographs are of an area near Florence, Italy, but the subjects of these photographs might as well be anywhere, as these banal and depressing locales look exactly like every other poorly built center around the world.

We have lost the human touch. Does this clarify my statements?

It made sense to me the first time, but you must also take into consideration that some of your meaning, for many who don't speak English as their first language, was lost in translation, obviously.

I was really looking forward to see Florence from 5 to 10 miles out, so I must say I was kind of surprised to see a nameless, auto-centric suburb as the subject of the thread.

My son stayed in a suburb of Florence for two months in 1999. His discription of the area matched you pictures quite closely, unfortunately.
