Wow Trantor, rather amazing. I didn't even know that Porto Alegre had such a nice downtown area (Santander Bank shot), even reminds me of BA. Definitely worth visiting, Southern Brazil looks more like B.A. or Uruguai than Rio area.

Thanks Verticalextropy. Yes, most everybody says that Porto Alegre looks more like Buenos Aires or Montevideo than with Rio or São Paulo.

Anyway, that shot of Santander should show one more building, similar to the old one on the left. Porto Alegre downtown is very dense indeed.

This photo shows that same corner of the city (you can see the same buildings there)

http://www.portoimagem.com/pontos_turisticos.html

Another example of density in Porto Alegre downtown is the Borges de Medeiros Canyon...

I do have a thread about Porto Alegre downtown. Check it out:

Very nice work guys. What is your handle name on the 3D warehouse? Mine is Jeffrey Hughey. Would love to rate some of your models and check everything you have done.

of Porto Alegre downtown this is one snapshot that shows almost everything... but there are plenty of buildings away from downtown, and some in other cities too, thus its impossible to show them all in a single snapshot.

Not sure if I asked you this already, but how long does it take to model a building?

hard to tell, because it depends a lot of the building in question. From 2 to 12 hours... there is also time you spend looking for good photos (or shooting them)

Suggestion: not to offend, but consider doing from those models diagrams for SSP. It would be great completing this city, almost empty there, because are great models for sure and parallel view from SU you can do easily diagrams. Thanks if you could. For at least some brazilian completing the lack of brazilian city's buildings almost empty in SSP see: http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?cityID=1210 only 5/32 structures.
