If the sky wasn't so dark and they got rid of the blood smear it wouldn't be too bad, I guess.

Delaware's current design dates back to 1959, I believe.

The retro plate (the only non-standard size in the country) is a throwback to the 1942 design, which were the same size and which were copied almost exactly ("DEL.", diamond to separate three digits, etc). Those plates were in turn a throwback to the plates from 1909-1912, which were also of that same size.

Ah yes Delaware, the only state in the union where people pay six figures at auctions for low-number plates. Delaware is crazy for low-number plates.
