Amen. 100% in agreement. I have little faith that whatever “public markets” will become will either a) be top quality/live up to expectation or b) be sustainable due to the competition nearby like Forks or Hargrave, or lack of people living in close proximity.

Is the closure of King St a sign that we'll see a major step in regards to the main building coming down? Looks like it's just about totally gutted, except for that mechanical stuff in the middle.

^^^Yes, the building is right up to the street on the King side. It is a safety precaution. They also laid down a thick bed of crushed gravel to protect the road and other services.

About a month ago I was driving down King and there was an unmarked police car slowly creeping by. Looked like a lost drone unit, returning home only to find the building under demolition. haha There were two cops checking it out. Kind of funny.

It's worth checking out this demolition scene in person. There is a certain drama to it when you see it in person that pictures just can't convey.

Looking at it with the panels broken out and just the columns left, I can appreciate it a lot more, it was always the stone panels that made it ugly to me.

She’s a few days away from being totally down. RIP Castle Hideous. Can’t wait to see the start of the next thing on the site.

I finally took a peek at the site, and last I saw, the southeast corner of what's left of the building was what was remaining.

Such a stark sight to see in person, but it's all for the better.

RRC should try and get some great press shots of the full block before something goes up again, never been able to see the whole Roblin Centre head-on, it's so amazing.

I hear there’s plans for a really nice tent city well advanced in the planning stages.

^ It's so weird to see that space empty. It reminds me of when Eaton's was torn down to make way for the MTS Centre.
