The Additionelle and Thyme Maternity are both going to be closed in the restructure. Still not convinced more stores won't follow later.

David's Tea is shifting to become a mostly online retailer and will close a majority of their stores. I suspect it is very likely the Cornwall Centre location will disappear in this restructure. They are going to keep stores where they can renegotiate their leases to better terms and the Cornwall does not have much a reputation for being flexible on leases.

Hopefully they will keep their 2 Saskatchewan locations.

Does anyone here know the status of Bath & Body Works in the Cornwall? I remember hearing rumblings before covid-19 they were to be expanding into Ardenes next door when they moved, but have heard from others they may now be closing up shop.

Gut feel is DavidsTea is going to focus more on the one store per large Canadian city. Really large cities like Vancouver and Toronto may have an additional store or two. I would also guess they are going to be willing to pay a premium to keep stores open near other premium brands v having a store in every mall. It is to the point aggressive mall based brands have 3 stores in Winnipeg. DavidsTea has 5 and they are all inside malls.

Yeah, I had heard from a mall manager from another store that Bath & Body Works was going to expand around when the new Ardene would open and left their old space. That would allow them to include the White Barn brand space. Ardene on the main floor is now open, so....?!? It’s odd to me that the Bath & Body Works brand would struggle when soaps and candles will never go out of style - and especially soaps on trend with the world pandemic needs.

“The company will reportedly close 13 of its 38 Victoria's Secret stores in Canada with the remaining closures taking place in the U.S. and only one of its Bath & Body Works locations.“

Hopefully Regina isn’t that one location.

Whhhaaaa?!? Where?!?

***EDIT: LUSH just replied that it’s going into the same spot as before (former 1st floor Aldo) with renovations taking place right now. They would be for sure putting in plumbing to have a working sink or two on the sales floor.***

I have been emailing them steadily since they closed the pop up. Hope this is true as it made absolutely no sense for them not to have a permanent Regina location. ❤️

Well. considering the location me and my dog will be avoiding that Pittie filled dog park.

Also, this is probably a better thing to post in the Regina Construction thread.

Ah! Yes, I noticed construction workers going into that space yesterday. They have black plastic sheeting hanging down so you can't see what they were doing. Not that I shop there, but glad to see them opening a permanent location.

The store I was anxious to re-open was Bath & Body Works. I am so happy they are open ...and they have been lined up every day (although it doesn't take very long to get into the store).

Board N Beans Cafe is not re-opening after their pandemic closure.
They were downtown on Rose St.

Am I missing something or was that temporary location not ridiculously small? I know they don't typically do large stores but it seemed needlessly cramped, especially given how popular it is

Wondering if they might move the back wall back as the manager said they had a LOT of space in the previous Aldo back room this past Christmas. I am sure the actual LUSH branded shelving might help the space seem bigger as they might have quickly got shelving and tables to fill the space for the holiday season. It actually is a big space/on par compared to some LUSH stores I’ve seen in the Toronto area.

Given the ridiculous rents that the Cornwall Centre charges for leases, maybe it's just a practical consideration.

Or knowing the difficulty of keeping retailers, Cushman gave them a good deal.

July 20th Oliver’s Mens Wear opens in the Cornwall Centre. Does this mean the Hamilton Street location closes even tho they moved there recently? I’m sure the Southland Mall location will stay. Also, anyone know where in the mall it will go? The Bench location next to Sephora?
