The mid-rise next to the Calsters building is going up, I saw lots of equipment there doing some drilling and hard hats. Not a high rise but will add a little needed height to that area

Wife, son and me drove past the site today and they have erected a tall tower crane (its almost as tall as the nearby CalSTRS building). From that I wonder if it could be taller than what was called for?
I went for a walk in West Sacramento between the Tower Bridge and the I Street Bridge today. Saw two small but interesting projects that I can't seem to find information or renderings of. Does anyone have more detail?
1. Construction of a boat dock on the west bank of the river, between the Ziggurat building and the river.
2. Just south of the I Street Bridge (between the CALSTRS building and the bridge) some concrete supports (maybe about 10 feet vertical) look freshly poured. Any idea what it going on there?

It is a new dock at Raley's Landing. It started late last year with the clearing of the old pillars and driftwood/full trees that had gotten tangled there over the years. After some delays in the beginning of the year, the project is moving forward.

Long-planned West Sac housing projects near start

Two West Sacramento housing projects in the works for several years appear poised to break ground in upcoming months.
One, an urban-style single-family housing project at 440 Sixth St., is now called Four40 West and should at least start site development early next year, said Mike Paris of builder BlackPine Communities.
"We're full-speed engineering at this point," said Paris, describing the project as having a similar density to his company's project The Creamery at the north end of Downtown Sacramento. "The size and scale of the community is pretty transformative for the area."
City Economic Development and Housing Director Katy Jacobson said there's a pending building permit for a parking structure for The West, an apartment and retail project immediately east of Sutter Health Park.
Jacobson said the parking structure would be The West's first phase, with a building permit application for the phase of apartments and retail to follow. West's approvals, which go back to 2018 and even further in terms of concept, call for 286 apartments and about 8,000 square feet of retail.

Fulcrum identified 3 sites for potential office development in the Bridge District. One south of the BARN adjacent to the freeway, one adjacent to the River One project, and one directly south of Raley Field on what is now a parking lot.

With about 400 residential units nearly finished, the developer for West Sacramento's Bridge District is contemplating other kinds of projects for future phases.
Though the next project, in 2021, will likely be a residential/retail project immediately south of The Barn, the firm is also marketing three potential sites for office developments of various sizes.
Depending on their needs, said Fulcrum Chief Investment Officer Randy Koss, the sites could become home to office buildings for several tenants, or a landing spot for a firm eventually seeking a full campus.
I rode my bike down the riverwalk in West Sac this weekend and they've done some ground work between The Barn and Tower Bridge. I'm not sure if that means something will get built there soon but it's about damn time
Majin, I must confess that one thing that has been consistent about our local forum is your ability to make us laugh. Well, myself at least.

The West apartment project has FINALLY broken ground (5 years late). Crews are out clearing the site.
We’re all used to the late or missed projects by now. We’ve seen so many.

CalSTRS phase two ten-story tower
200,000 square feet of office space
400 parking spaces
cost $300,000 million
This has got to be some of the slowest moving construction anywhere.

Heard from the developer yesterday that they're just about done lining up financing for River One now and they expect to break ground in July. The hotel portion will have a rooftop bar. A few more projects around the Barn in line to happen after, including possible office midrises adjacent to the freeway if they can find a tenant.

I'm very interested in this project. Any idea what the anticipated length of construction/completion date would be if they are able to stick to that start date? Would love to hear any updates you get from your contact!
