What a nice nickname for a part of Winnipeg that needs Manhattanization...

I do agree though. 100%. More residential and high tech industry is needed.

I’m definitely appreciating the location and scale of this project, and it’s residents will enjoy one of my personal favourite perspectives of downtown, hopefully a few more buildings like like this find their way into this area in the upcoming years! I do wish these units included some sort of balcony as well, especially considering the view! Does anyone know what the projected rents are aiming to be once this development is complete?

There appears to be 3 or 4 shared balconies on top of the sitting area and commercial patio at ground level, but TV can confirm. He also discussed the rent model a page or two back.

I certainly noticed the large shared balconies, and I think those are great for the sense of community or if they are usable for personal gatherings, but still not the same when you simply want to step outside to enjoy your view, the weather, or even sip on a coffee. I definitely like the entire concept otherwise. I didn’t notice anything regarding the rents, but perhaps I’ve skimmed past it, and thanks!

That's possibly the best view from anywhere in the city. Nice pic.

I'm not sure about that, but this photograph definitely has a Regina vibe to it.

I prefer the reverse view of this, the skyline from Henderson Hwy looks like a different city compared to this angle.

Agreed, the downtown Winnipeg skyline always looked most impressive to me heading south down the Disraeli. Trueviking's photo offers a fresh perspective though, since that is not really a commonly seen view of downtown Winnipeg unless you live on one of the higher floors along Colony Street or work on the top floor of Canada Life. The resemblance to Regina from that angle is striking!

to be fair, Regina has a pretty good skyline for a city that size. That's a great photo. Regina and Fargo are almost the same size.

Here’s a snapshot of the finished veneer at West Broadway Commons. I believe this is the first building in Winnipeg to use the Arriscraft split stone

WBC looks much nicer to my eyes than the U of W affiliated apartments west of the WAG. It's a very nice addition to the skyline.

Except for that poorly coordinated rooftop unit. Oh man.
