Question for everyone:
London is Ontario's largest City not to have car-sharing (excluding Mississauga, and that will change next month)
Why? And what will it take to change it?
Today 'Community Car Share' operates in K-W and Hamilton; Autoshare and Zipcar in Toronto, and Virtucar in Ottawa. There's even car-sharing in tiny Regina, SK!
While London is certainly a fairly car-centric place, there are quite a few people (as in thousands) who have a driver's license, but for one reason or another do not own a car.
I would think this would do well here, particularly downtown and near the UWO campus.
Thoughts?
For those interested, I think the 2 most likely companies to consider setting up shop here (if no one forms something locally) are Zipcar (as they are big in University towns in the States) and Community Car Share, since they operate in 2 nearby cities.
