Love the Castlegar pictures! Great contrast of nature and industrial. For a large Canadian city Montreal is quite lush in a matter of fact way, gorgeous.

Thursday night, before the heat wave, Great Scaper and I did a quick photo shoot in Victoria; hopefully he’ll post his perspective here! We started at the inner harbour, and did a quick loop around and got some fresh shots, well, with focusing again on the current tallest in Victoria.

Am I going to be able to visit Montreal this summer? Or is looking at these gorgeous photos the best I can hope for?

West Block of Parliament.

Fun fact, five buildings in Ottawa have served Parliamentary functions over the last 155 years: the original Centre Block (1866), destroyed by fire in 1916, the Victoria Memorial Building (a.k.a. Museum of Nature), used as an interim Parliament until the new Centre Block opened in 1920 (sans Peace Tower, completed in 1927) and now the West Block serves as the temporary House of Commons while the Senate of Canada Building (former Union Station) houses the Senate Chamber while Centre Block goes through rehabilitation.

I have to agree with you. We have some of the ugliest boxy soul-less rundown low-quality housing around, and they are literally everywhere! Pretty depressing to walk around these neighbourhoods, although the west coast greenery and large trees around make it a tad better. Thankfully some of these boxes are being demolished to make way for even denser housing.

A unique angle of Grange Park from a drone video. Grange House (1817) at the edge of the circle with a Henry Moore sculpture to the left. OCAD on the right and AGO in the centre with the surrounding Grange Park neighbourhood.

Martin Mtl, I love that photo of the guy sitting on the edge of that building looking over the city. A wonderful photo.

Zoomer, thanks for sharing your photos. As always you take such great shots. I'll post some of mine from our walkabout in the next few days. I still have some to upload to Flickr.
