I was out enjoying the lovely sun today and was pleasantly surprised to see cladding up! They have a good two floor section up. It's still pretty dirty since its been laying around on the site for a while now. But from what I can judge it looks really good. Although there was one panel that has been mounted, but is now smashed. I hope it was a construction accident and not some sort of vandalism.
This is a really fantastic project. Something interesting for the city. Looking forward to seeing the finished project, including how it really fits and connects this part of the boardwalk with new market/nscad area.
One thing that surprises me, is just how transparent the glass is; you can see right through the corner of the building where the glass is installed. Won't the building structure be very apparent with such transparent glass? I don't intend for this to sound critical of the building, it is just a question. It is less apparent in the photo above than on the webcam.

I think that is just because of the open wall on the harbour side letting all the light transmit through the pane. Once the building gets completely closed in i think the glass will appear more opaque, as the glass walls opposite will be reflecting much of the light.
Nice picture. So far it looks a little nicer than anticipated.
The whole seawall area is coming along. I kind of like how it has a different, more open feel compared to the downtown. It will really come together with 2-3 new buildings.
Great photo tribeachpunk. I hope that you will continue to contribute to this forum.
Thanks and I will
