LaSpata ain’t doing shit. He knows he will piss off a lot of his Aldermanic colleagues if he retroactively revokes a zoning change that they just approved.

Nice move by Moreno. God bless the “end of my political tenure” Hail Mary pass. Great way to say a final “f#$k you” to one’s NIMBY constituents that just voted you out of office.

well, as a wicker park resident I can say it is a little large for there and the trains are more than full. They need to run 30 percent more already. I use Division all the time

maybe we can tear down your Libertyville garage and build it there?

in other news, pretty heavy soil examination under way at the northeast corner of LSE

they dug down about 8 to 10 feet in a short series of terraces and pulled out lots of stuff they separated into piles. Timbers bricks, loose sand etc.

This view will be forever lost when a skyscraper is built at 300 N. Michigan. Get your shots before its too late.

^ out of those six low rises in that photo are any of them protected? Or could we see a pure highrise wall along the west side of michigan within that block someday?

Nice harry, now I see what you were comparing to with 110 wacker's fins. Hopefully that awesome reflection works as well with 110 as it does with NW. Is it fair to say we most likely wont see the outpatient tower for at least ten years?

Well, being that the oldest one is already slated for demolition, I'd be surprised if any other ones were. I know that doesn't answer your question, but given how dense this tower will make that already hyper-dense block, I'd be surprised if there was enough demand for a skinny 20+ floor tower on what remained. Unless the crappy hotel in the middle is demolished, which then would provide ample square footage for a decently sized tower.

Also, awesome pictures of the Biomedical Research Facility, Harry!

Chicago architecture on God-Mode right here. Modernism, Art-Deco, Beaux Arts, and Gothic.

^Coupled with the North side of the river anchored by Wrigley, Tribune and Equitable, there's nothing like it anywhere in the world. You couldn't change my mind. In hindsight I should have repositioned myself so that annoying spotlight pole was obstructing the Comfort Suites instead of the London Gvarantee. Next time. In any case I figured out a loophole to post my photos. I'll periodically go through and repost all my photos in their respective threads to replace the links but for now here's a couple shots from the skydeck, 6/27

Vista, OBP

110 N. Wacker, WPE, Old Town 2, Father & Son redevelopment.
The vertical white lines on WPE are a good counterpoint to the horizontal lines of 155 N. Wacker.

NEMA, Essex, Paragon, 1101 & 1140, & 1345 S. wabash.

2016:

845 W. Madison, Union West, Hyatt House, 1375 W. Fulton, Nobu, 167 N. Green, Gr333n, Mill, Mille, Milieu (not confusing at all) What did I miss?

2016:

Riverline, 717 S. Clark, Alta Grand Central
Never noticed that the East building of Alta Grand is not a rectangle. It's more like a rhombus, even though I know I'm cutting corners.

I'm picturing it rising up right in place of the Waldorf (and of course taller and bulkier)

Prairie Shores

Prairie Shores sold to Developers Golub and Farpoint for $180Mil https://www.chicagobusiness.com/comm...ll-180-million

Farpoint were the developers planing Burnham Lakefront (Michael Reese site) when the Amazon HQ2 excitement was in the air. Not sure if this means redevelopment or just refurbishment, but leaning toward the latter for now. Maybe next cycle...

I believe the towers were recently refurbished, so I'd imagine it's a leverage move to have more control in the area on what they can do with the property and how to better fold it into the Michael Reese megadevelopment's infrastructure and parkland. That adds a ton of usable land around the towers to toy around with adding roads and amenities and whatnot
