I remember travelling through Minneapolis in the 1970s and seeing the new, then called, IDS building. Back then it looked huge and really out of place in the downtown. Today it fits in very well.

Seriously, not a single change for about 19 years. Since 2006ish about 4 new highrises have gone up that can actually be seen.

The 1984 Uptown Dallas photo is mind blowing. What a change. That 2011 still doesn't even really show how different that area is from the 1984 picture.

That Minneapolis picture is really surprising. Even in the opening credits of the Mary Tyler Moore (early 70s) show downtown Minneapolis seemed so much bigger than that picture would suggest.

Except that they did a piss poor job of it and removed two huge buildings (Security Pacific and Union Bank) and left 1100 Wilshire in there. Fail.
