Photo Suggestions

Hello all good Ottawa photo taking people!

Don't post on here too much, but in this case I'm asking for a little direction and suggestion given the amount of talent I've seen here.

I'm looking for some photos of Ottawa to be used for promotion purposes in advertising a national conference (I'm part of the Steering Committee). To fit with our theme, I'm looking for some pictures of some Ottawa area bridges. Ideally this would include a bridge (scenic panoramic shot) that distinctly shows both sides of the river and would be in the springtime (the conference will be in May 2011). Also some great shots of the Gatineau Hills or Hull skyline would be helpful and something with an Aboriginal theme that includes scenic elements.

If any of you you could help me out, that would be greatly appreciated! There is also the possibility of paying royalties on any photos our committee chooses.

Thanks in advance!!

W

Amazing picture, O-Town.

I took this picture from the Corktown Bridge in May 2007... I wish the sky was less hazy. It's got many of the elements you're looking for: it has both sides of the Canal, one of the oldest bridges across the Canal (Laurier), the old railway station & the Château Laurier, and the Gatineau Hills in the background, along with a boat. I'm sure plenty of similar pictures abound on flickr though...

Wow where to start! Lots and lots possible

Aside from the ones downtown along the canal and the river a couple that come to mind:

-The cummings bridge from the st. patrick bridge is nice.

-Certain views of the bank street bridge

-The historic one lane bridges behind the old Ottawa city hall.

Those are the Minto Bridges.

Also, the Pretoria Avenue Bridge over the canal is nice.

The Prince of Wales Bridge is perhaps the oldest, at least maintaining close to its original appearance.

also, just out of town is the Wakefield covered bridge. Very photogenic, although a modern replacement of the one that was set on fire by arsonists in the 1980s.

if you are looking for an aboriginal theme, you should get a photo of the teepees on Victoria Island.. I don't have a good picture of them but this pic I took one fall might give you the idea..

I've got a couple of shots you might be interested in..

Gatineau skyline..

some bridges.. they really need to clean up the rust on the MC bridge..

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! All these are really great and I think they will be really helpful in giving our steering committee some ideas.
