111's façade looks like child's play compared to this!

Already stunning.

This is an older photo, but you can put 9 Dekalb in it, and imagine how great it will look...

I think this is going to look better than the terra cotta job on 111. Too many imperfections in terra cotta going on those long vertical spans for my taste. I'm sure I'll get blasted for that statement, but to me this looks better. I do like the top of 111 with the tapering and blow through areas.

111's crown should have had one more span in elevation. Looking at the crown from the east or west the vertical terracotta columns terminate one at a time as the building recedes to its tip. At the top though, there are two columns which terminate together. The final column closest to the park should continue up to around 1500'. That would be perfect.

Back on topic, this facade looks sexy and sinister. This is gonna be an intimidating building.

I'm normally a poster on the Vancouver Skyscraper Forum but popped in on this thread to say that facade is incredible. What a joy it must be to have a building of that caliber going up. Truly incredible.

In a time of value engineering it is nice to see that they did not take this approach on the cladding. Looks fantastic!!!

^ I think I just found my new favorite view of Brooklyn and Manhattan! From that angle, you can see almost every single supertall in NY (besides ESB)!! Where roughly was this shot at? Would love to visit in a few weeks!!

^Agreed! I didn't know such a vista was possible. Awesome. I count (12) supertalls, including the two on the rise at HY. And including the ESB, which is hiding, but still partially visible. Is 12 correct for Manhattan?

Also, with the completion of 9 DeKalb, it appears you Brooklyners will have a perfect, Chicago-style peak among the cluster of towers stepping up towards 9 DK.

That's Pacific Park over the Barclays Center. 9 DeKalb should be directly behind it, or a little to its left from that angle.
