Pricing

a)How much are they selling for?
b)What is the budget for the development?

More than you can fathom/understand.

Basically, not viable numbers by any stretch. But hey, I'd build a super/megatall if I had money up to my ears too.

After developing survivable infrastructure for starving African countries, that is.

Yes I agree, all the money unnecessarily spent on wars, supporting despotic regimes and bombing places to the stone age, could have been enough to easily develop some kind of infrastructure on those starving African countries, you seams so "worried" about.

BTW this building is under construction. The piling has already started.

I like the building.
But that's it, I'm going to say it no matter how often I know it's been said before : where is this demand coming from ? In twenty years, is Dubai going to be the see-through city ?

Cool shots of the load cells, thats one huge strain gauge! Could there be two or even three of these inside that one single cassion? Looks like its wired to remote data loggers with CAT-5 ethernet.
And that is some impressively HUGE rebar.

Some renders I found. Sorry if they're been shown before but they're new to me. For some reason they won't post here.

Render 1

Why would you need a Sushi Bar + Lounge in your condo?
Render 2

Is it a pool in every floor, every 2 floors, in each condo?
Render 3

Look good. I like that they didn't try to over decorate the buildings with 18 hundreds wanna be sculptures.

Definitely something that many people in Dubai, and of course all around the world, do not understand.

It's a marketing thing. They want to sell it as the world's tallest res and this spire probably doesn't cost too much extra.
Agree it looks shite though.

I find it PATHETIC that they would increase the height of the building by putting a thin little spire on it. Anybody can nail a stick onto the roof of their house and then claim it's 'higher' than their neighbours house...

Dubai must definitely remind everyone that they have the biggest 'skyscrapers', even if they have to put a lame stick on top of an already good building.

Reminds me of that damn New York Times Building's lame spire.

I really dont like this building, mainly for the "choppy" parts, the spire only makes it worse.

Nobody in Chicago will agree the building on the right is taller than the building on the left.
