Good, I'm anxious to see this one underway!

Thanks Makid. That will be a major upgrade to that side of the block.

It's great to see these new projects in Central 9th. Thanks for the photo update!

Anybody know what the status of this one is?

Photo Bump - Looking forward to the big change coming over the next 2-5 years of the view of this section of downtown. It wasn't too long ago when we were wishing they would fill in that big tower hole between the Westgate and Chase Towers. Soon we'll be moving on to filling in the hole between Wells Fargo and The Grand Hotel. Also, a little spicing it up with a few 500 to 600 footers.

Saw some excavation work going on just north of the Public Safety building on 300 e and 200 s. Perhaps the Violin School project is about to get started? Anyone know a start date for that one?

They're starting on the affordable housing building directly to the north of the Public Safety Building.

Agreed!!

In driving from my office today, I noticed demolition on the corner of 300 South 400 West. Looks like that apartment is a done deal.

Can’t wait to see this angle of the skyline full of new towers either!
Could someone add the proposed towers into this view so we might be able to see what it’ll look like?

What are these towers? Are you mixing this up with LA?

Does anyone know what's happening at the old Arrow Press Square site?

Walking by there today I noticed there is fencing around the lot and a bunch of machinery and cement barriers staged on site.

It's probably construction staging for the Convention Center Hotel.

Haha, sorry about the confusion Orlando, but I had to chuckle at how well Ctobsl could translate my pig Latin. I'm not sure how long I've been in the habit of calling Gateway West Westgate. As far as One Utah, well I kind of dislike that tower being given that name. I mean it's an attractive enough tower for sure, but I resent it being given that status in view of its obvious lack of height. CHASE is the major occupant and has its name at the top so I'll continue to call it the CHASE Tower. Given the International influence of CHASE and how many buildings it seems to be occupying downtown, I wish they would just build themselves an ultra exciting new tallest. Anyway, that's my prejudice and I can deal with it for a few more years until we get a few new tallest that are more deserving of the title...

Anyone know about some new buildings going in around 2100 S and 700 E? In a different group, there were two posts, including:

"Apartments are coming! Has anyone heard any more about the proposal for the development that's replacing Ute Crossfit? I heard a rumor that it's on both sides of 2100 South?

Not sure of what all is going in just know that they are set to develop in August."

So over in the Denver thread they started a subreddit for Denver development yesterday and it already has almost 500 users. There must be quite a few lurkers on the forum!

So I went ahead and made the SLC version! It's a little rough around the edges but it's the first subreddit I've ever made. PM me if you have any suggestions!

Ah, the great migration has begun. As every online forum before it, Skyscraper Page discussion forums soon shall be abandoned for the ease of Reddit, massive user base, and its functional, pleasing, enjoyable system. As it was foretold, this too shall come to pass.

I'm predicting all content will have migrated by the next year, and the mountain-west forum will be a ghost town.
