Not much anymore these day, it would seem. The city as a whole seems to have lost interest in Robson, compared to 10-15+ years ago.

Wow, those brick arches were unexpected. Anyone know how old it was?

Developed in 1914 by C A Crosby who was a bank official with the Royal Bank of Canada.

I suspect the time consumption on this demo is due to saving all those bricks for resale.

And they also had to deal with the asbestos, which is a slow and painstaking process.

I like seeing shacks being torn down. For such a prime downtown location, I'm amazed it took so long for this to happen.

Out of the 4 proposed CRU's I wouldn't be surprised to see in actuality 2 tenants.

Is there any resale value on old bricks? It looked like they did save the solid wood beams from the general rubbish pile.

Actually old bricks are worth saving as designers do like using them in projects to add character. I imagine since there are not to many brick buildings in the region older brick buidings are a great source of the material especially those who really want bricks with character/ and a great back story.

Reclaimed brick house in Point Gray:

New West condo project Portage took reclaimed bricks from the old Continental Hotel. 700 for each unit:

Couple other angles by me today:

Note the double layer of bricks on the Seymour side of the framing store.

Again, with the clearing of a site that had old buildings we have new views. I was struck by how large and splendid the two mature trees are (along Robson) now that we have an unimpeded view of them.

The Lennox Pub corner looks like it wants to be demolished as well.

The building where Lennox pub is housed deserves heritage protection.

I believe that's for the Payless Shoe store above and beside the Lennox Pub.
