The lights on the Arc though, would they not shine directly into the units they are on? or is their placement diminish the light going towards the units?
None of these are residential, for good reasons too. I don't even think they are good for anything other than massively scaled national propaganda videos. The best part of the video is actually the Lhasa Potala palace, which is simply gorgeous architecture lit up with warm hue projectors.

You like that? I don’t know. I guess it adds visual interest to the building. It looks tacky to me, especially in the daylight.

agreed, the form and details should be inherently interesting. The fluorescent lighting feels a bit trashy at night too. I bet the blue hue makes hanging out on the balcony at night unpleasant.

Perceptions of tackiness on an otherwise stunning building. What you describe seem travesties to the building design. How would anybody eliminate the tackiness, underscore boldness?

You can sortof see in the pic that there is a steel back behind the bulbs so the light shouldn't shine back onto the balconies, though I don't have firsthand experience of being on one of those balconies.

In all seriousness, I would expect that Concord set up the strata and related charges on title in such a fashion that there's nothing the strata can do to compel anything against the signage. There's a number of legal means to accomplish that.

I expect it would come down in the ordinary course.
No other Concord Buildings have a massive sign like that.
It may be a banner (it doesn't light up)

There is a tombstone sign on Pacific Blvd for the building that says "The Arc".

I am regularly coming home in the late afternoon going north over the Cambie Bridge (either by bus or walking) and have not seen the edge lighting on since we turned the clocks back and it's been dark in the late afternoon.

So, I don't know if the lights have not been operating for a long time or what. Maybe they're on a timer and they come on later in the evening?

Dec.2 '20, my pic

Isn't there a COV sign bylaw? I thought you couldn't just slap a sign on your building without going through the hoops...?

So true!! The intended effect seemed to be "snazzy" but it didn't work out. Tacky is more like it.

I like it.
They jazz up the entrance to downtown from Cambie Bridge.
