Due to a lack of integrated social, cultural, and urban systems, downtown Los Angeles lacks continuous human activity. This project designed by architects Yang Wang and Stephen Silva explored the human muscular system and applied it to an architectural vision. One of the most interesting parts of the muscular systems is how each muscle has its own identity, yet they work in a choreographed way. In a similar fashion, each program in this tower has its own volume but they are interlocked to work together. Each program supports the next one and sustains continuous activities for 24 hours. The idea is infuse downtown Los Angeles with nightlife when it is normally deserted.

Anemona Building

^ well ADC, I would not say 'unconstructable' at all, but in this situation a little bit too much for too few to sctructure that. I think personally is not affordable, but... better people taken others' opinions... In middle is too weak red areas if you go analysing in the wind tunnel, in where too much pressure (weight gravity) from middle top above part can make a real good balance to all, I can immagine already the adition of constant senoidal frequencies of vibration, well, we all known the very known Tacoma Bridge effect. Resonance !!!
Do the architects saw that before doing the Rendering!, I've my concerns really, not sure, but depends on ammount of money, all possible

The Diamond Tower is a skyscraper proposal for New York City designed by Mexican architect Luis Durazo. The complex geometry of the building is inspired on the chemical structure of a Diamond with an exoskeleton acting as a steel lattice where habitable cells or units can be arranged. The 300 meter high tower allows for daylight to enter into every unit through the ingenious placement of openings according to solar studies. Twenty percent of the steel lattice will remain unoccupied and will be used as vertical recreational areas for the city. That is the case of the plinth where New Yorkers will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of amenities including a museum and art galleries. Among the various green technologies, the tower counts with wind turbines located through out the top levels and solar panels in the entire façade.

It seems jury shared your opinion since they chose the first proposal.

yeah, "interesting"... I haven't seen many of those buildings after they've been built. Hadid's usually look ok compared with the rendering but I bet not many would look as good as the renderings. Here's another weird one:

^ Not without good reason. Libeskind's architecture is just as gimmicky as Frank Gehry's. He introduced fractured, angular forms he claimed were particular to tragedy (destruction, war), then applied them to art museums and shopping centers.

Regarding Libeskind, I agree that his designs look terrible in shopping centers and the like, but for some reason I think the Denver Art Museum expansion building works. Maybe it's that it looks like the bow of a ship about to head straight into the original museum tower, maybe it's the site location itself, I don't know. But I do know I like it, and like it a lot. The galleries inside look awesome as well, and kudos to the curators and designers who were able to deal with the extreme lack of right angles in which to hang art from!

Qatar is bidding to host the World Cup in 2022, and now they’ve got Foster + Partners backing them up with a stunning energy-efficient world-class football stadium. The Lusail Iconic Stadium was revealed today at the Leaders in Football conference in London, and it will be large enough to seat over 86,000 spectators. Built specifically for the extreme summer conditions of the capital city Doha, the stadium will be stay cool in the hot, hot heat and also generate solar power from the parking lot canopies surrounding the stadium.

crossboundaries architects is a young, Berlin and Beijing based team of international architects, established in 2005. Recently they completed this play school in Beijing, located at the outer corner of a park, placed in a natural environment. The building is a mixure of an indoor playground and a kindergarten for children up to twelve years old and hosts different kinds of activities – from swimming, playing games to various classes ranging from music, dancing, crafting to cooking.

project (title): B Tower
location (address): Hennekijnstraat, Rotterdam, the Netherlands
Project description of The B Tower Rotterdam by Wiel Arets Architects:
The B Tower is located in the centre of Rotterdam, immediately adjacent to the Bijenkorf department store designed by Marcel Breuer in the late 1950s. Because of its commercial context the site below the Bijenkorf’s roofline is to be fully occupied, while above it, just thirty per cent of the lot towards the sunken shopping mall Beurstraverse, has been released to build a high-rise tower. In order to avoid splitting the project into a basement and a tower, the design stacks three volumes of similar height. The ground-related volume contains a fashion store, The Sting, and a car park; the two upper volumes contain apartments.
