I would guess maybe commercial or industrial areas? I'm just an arm chair tourist, so I wouldn't know.

I'm surprised how often this gets mistaken for the Suburban Skyline thread.

(Not that they aren't nice pictures.)

Great Vic shots. Victoria has a pretty lousy skyline but a great urban environment which is far more important.

Victoria looks super dense in those shots, pretty impressive for the size of the metro!

I would say that Victoria is the envy of most cities less than 1,000,000. Great density and quality looking buildings. Not to mention the water and mountains nearby. I know I would trade London's slab factory for Victoria any day.

Easily some of the best shots I've seen of Victoria.

Great Victoria shots. Love the streetfront density and lack of towers-in-the-park.

In the first picture you can see a construction site to the left of the cibc building in Victoria, its practically done at this point and is about as tall as the cibc building. its a 15 story residential tower. its made a sizable change in what little skyline we have here in vic.

Also have to say that I love the street-level density in Victoria.

A couple new pics of Regina from UrbanClimate:

The black and white picture played with my mind at first glance... Tbought it was an old/historical picture for a second. There's also a proposal for a 15 or so storey low-income housing complex for the block before the last building on the left.

Thanks for sharing those Victoria pictures. Makes me remember the month I spent there, Mermaid Wharf condos. I had a few evenings at Bard & Banker, and having fun is mostly the only thing I can remember

agreed. Perhaps the threads could be merged? Though I think both do serve a purpose.

If they were merged, I would hope that this one becomes "The Great Canadian Skyline Thread for CMAs and Suburbs under 1 Million" and the main skyline thread becomes "The Great Canadian Skyline Thread for Core Cities of CMAs over 1 million"... perhaps that would make things more cohesive? Or possibly less? Well who cares anyways

I love the QC pano. B&W brings out the winter stronger. And those Victoria photos are delicious eye candy.

I'm still confused about how Quebec City apparently has similar escarpment heights to Hamilton, it just looks so much smaller.
