Sounds like a nasty vignette from 1957.

Hey Guys, I'm looking for a good picture of the Skyway bridge in Burlington with Toronto in the background. The very few I found on the web were not good. I'd like to see Toronto very clearly.

Someone ?

Is it okay to have Hamilton in the foreground? Like this:

Sherbrooke, as it can be seen from Ascot Corner (more than 5km away).

Note that the whole lake fits in between the Times Hotel and the chalet-like building.

Wow these have to be the nicest pictures of my hometown I've seen in a while. They are a welcome change from the usual eastern lookout views.

Oh and that's some crazy telephoto on the third picture. King Est and Richard street appear to be pretty close to each other while in reality it's very long car drive between the two. I think we can even see the summit of Owl's Head pop out in the distance.

Exactly what I was going to say, with one little exception, I would have said Prospect Street instead of Richard

Scroll over to the right to see the Nanaimo skyline, plus a faint vista of part of Vancouver.

I said Richard St. because I thought that the building we can see at the end of Prospect was on Richard St., but in fact it is on McGregor. The whole "extended" downtown (from Murray/du Cégep to Jaques-Cartier) fits between the building under construction in the foreground (3 or so km further than that to be exact, on the other side of the hill) and the red light we can see on Prospect, but nothing at all indicates that.

Not exactly a skyline photo but this is an interesting aerial shot of Halifax that shows most of the "inner city" areas. Most downtown shots only feature the clump of stuff on the right, next to the citadel.

Very nice.
From that vantage point, Halifax looks like to be almost without parking lots except few ones.

It looks like the new developpements have white lights rather than Yellow like the rest of Kamloops. Am I wrong ?

Yes fortunately there are very few. Not few enough to suit me of course, but few nonetheless.

They've really declined in number over the past few years. I wouldn't be surprised if 1/3-1/2 of the surface lots that existed 10 years ago downtown have since been built on.

The worst remaining ones, I think, are the Dennis Building and the parking on the northern end of the Province House grounds. There is a plan to fix all of that but I am not sure if or when it will happen. When that is done there won't be much surface parking at all north of Sackville Street downtown.

There were never many. Not in a North American sense. It's good that way. Saint John and us as well.

Not sure where the Dennis building is, but the parking lots that bother me the most are the one at the Victoria General on South Park (technically just outside downtown) and on the central waterfront near the ferry terminal. The South Park one is so damn big and the waterfront one is so conspicuous...

Two hand-held snapshots of Metrotown and Brentwood sunset few nights before.
