The louvers are all one color. EFCO black to match the window mullions. That's it. Nothing else. Any variation you see is some variation of lighting / shadow / playing off adjacent surfaces.

Will we ever be able to stop talking about the louvers? They are what they are, and that is likely all they will ever be.

In the morning - inbound on the Ike - the sun catches the wall in the blow through - pretty sweet.

This is incorrect. Ms. Gang selected a slightly lighter version of the gray for the wider portions of the building that the louvers are located...

Vista occupied?

..........I look straight at the north side of the building. The lower 25 to 30 floors seems to have lights that imply that these floors are occupied. Is this just my imagination?

The sales center reported this week that the first occupants will move in the second or third week of Nov starting with floors 13 to 20. They added that a hotel partner has been selected and would be announced once the partnership with Wanda ends; expected at the end of the month. They stated all features of the hotel and restaurants are being completed as promised and the hotel opening is anticipated for the third quarter of 2021.

Great update.

A hotel partner has been selected? Hmm, I'm quite curious who it will be.

Ironically, this may end up working out better for this project and its developers in the long term. I don't think anyone really knows how good of a hotel "Wanda Vista" would have been, being attached to the name of some far overseas billionaire. We may end up with a more quality product if an established hotel flag sets up shop instead.

Maybe we'll get that Shangri-La we've been promised for decades?

Yeah that would be a pretty good substitute with a similar Asian heritage. It would be a nice complement to the Peninsula and the Langham that we already have.

The Peninsula and The Langham weren't established names in Chicago either, from "far overseas" but they have been successful offering a luxury product.

I was getting some updates of Cirrus & Cascade today, and of course, snagged a few of Vista. This is a totally unedited shot, screen grabbed from my editing software. Looks to me like the louvers are two distinct shades of grey

I don't know if it was the sun angle (it probably was the sun angle) but they seemed to blend in a lot more seamlessly than they have in the past. Maybe I'm just getting used to them.

Any chance the center section is solid panels, not louvers?

EDIT: Sorry to prolong this debate. I’ve just gone back a couple pages. But less “open” louvers might explain the difference.

That night image is cool, it almost makes me wish that this building had already been around when Chicago stood in for Gotham in The Dark Knight...or even that they would set the next Spiderman film there or something. It just begs for a dramatic scene over the city, perched inside the blow-through floors that are lit up at night. Like right?

Well chicago is Gotham again but idk if it's a show or movie. I hope we get skyline shots from it with vista though because that would be cool
