Why? There is not much to gain from building something from scratch. The biggest problem with LAX is the vehicle access points and that is being addressed with APM and access points outside the horseshoe. After Delta is finished with rebuilding T2 and T3 and American is finished with rebuilding T4 and T5, we will end up with basically three mostly brand new linear terminals - north, south, TBIT and annex.

Plus we can't shut down LAX for years while they raze and rebuild.
