That isn't any available in the area. There is very limited surface parking (and getting more limited). The only indoor parking around would be below Condo buildings, and those I believe would only be available to tenants.

Even if they put some U/G parking below the West addition to the pumphouse as the article states, I can't see there being room for much more than around 20 cars or so, spread out over a couple levels. Maybe they want to get creative and use an automated parking system, but either way - parking is stretched thin around there.

Isn't there an indoor parkade with the Sports For Life building that's just about done? That should help with parking in the area...for those willing to walk 2 or 3 minutes to their destination.

Who says people don't? The northern parts of the east Exchange have gone from semi-abandoned wasteland to thriving urban neighbourhood in barely over a decade... with such an influx of people and buildings being built on former parking lots, naturally there will be a parking crunch.

Not sure what the point of your post was. Mine was in response to a lack of parking.

I would not say thriving, or even urban neighborhood, as there is very little in terms of retail, etc.

^ The point is that not everyone can or will take the bus. When you bring in people and reduce the amount of parking spaces concurrently, you end up with some real parking pressure. If the issue isn't addressed, other companies that may be considering the area will bypass it if employees have nowhere nearby to park.

Next time you come to town you should go and check the area out... the East Exchange is most definitely a thriving urban neighbourhood and the projects that are being developed right now will only improve it.

They can park elsewhere and walk a few blocks. No big deal. In terms of residents, the parkade needs to be built ASAP.

There is a lack of basic amenities in the area, so it has a long way to go.

Considering just over 10 years ago the area was nothing but abandoned warehouses along an abandoned rail line, it has come a long way. Yup, lots more can happen, but impossible to argue the success.

It will be exciting to see the Pumphouse when it's finished.

I heard this was all proposed to happen but didn't realize it had all been approved and starting so soon. I thought they were just doing some type of remedial work on the pumphouse. Not that it's officially going ahead.

Super duper news haha. Looking forward to this project, as it's rather unique as we know.

Took a long time, but thank God. This project is definitely preferred than that ugly tower proposed prior.

Nothing yet. TS only left abruptly at the end of January. The Broadview fitness centre was rebuilt into offices for ThinkShift. TS people were really nice. Society moved to the Exchange district as well.

no thanks! as a father of 2 athletic kids who will be definitly doing trainning here, bus is not convenient. we live very hectic lives (and wouldn't give it up one bit) early AM practice - school - sport games- bed, repeat! we will park nearby and walk.

You get it, you are willing to walk; you do not need to park right outside the door LOL.

Does that lead to the possibility of the grocery store expanding?

Skylights in progress. Took almost all day to cut those concrete sections out.

The grocery store has all of the lower level and has had it for many years. They can't expand.

Nice brickwork. No wonder they want to save that building.
