Section Two

Here is Section Two the Residential Area. It will only have about 4-6 blocks and mostly will be public housing. Looking down Potter Street. The Residential Building on the left is 43 Potter Street and the one on the right is the other building of the 43 Potter Street.

It's finally a sunny day in Midland city!

Updated skyline:

I'm still going to fix the textures as Tolbery suggested, but I just haven't had the time like I used to.

I also extruded the textures as Tolbert suggested!

Anyway Update! Looking at the Midland Housing . It was built in 1989. The city is starting a reclad of the lower part of the building isnce it is undesired.

A quick render. Here is another look down the street:

And here is a layout of the city with some future plans:

I added some filler buildings, but I like the city spread out.

nice! but i think you should add some trees in the large, empty lots between/in-front of some buildings. like plazas on the top-right corner of the last picture.

Will do! I am working on a different project (you will see it later today) so no updates for a little while. My next update will be on Thanksgiving weekend.

Oh and I added a lot more details on the buildings.

Now just imagine that with properly cropped textures. That would be an A!

Ok. I'll fix the roofs as fast as I can.

Anyways updates will be more frequent for the next week and a half because of Thanksgiving Break.

Anyways here is the Block that I'm working on right now. It was completely empty when a parking garage got destroyed there. They are in the middle of building the block.

It seems like it is a cold morning in Midland. As you can see it seems like the right half of the downotwn is more modern while the other side is more boxy, and more old.

Anyways, I will render the city only with Indigo becuase i like how it turns out, and I think it fits well with the city.

Here is the progress plan for the next 6 months:

Now-December: Finishing the buisness District and the Residential District. Also putting in more details

December-March: Government District, and Old Towne.

April- May: Finishing the downtown, and starting the lowrise district. Also will start single family homes.

Here is a nice sized update:

I completely did the West End Park Block. It has new textures, and I redid some of the buildings. They needed a reclad!

And here is finally a ariel of the city as I now Finished the first two Sections:

Ok, I spent a lot of time on this shot so here is a Emporis Shot of the tallest building in Midland, InnerCorp Insurance Building:

thanks Yingblanc!!!!!Yeah expect more Emprois pages after I finish the cities Core.

Ok guys, I'm really excited to get back into Midland again!!!!!!

I am starting to sketch the outside of the Buisness district. This little district will have mostly midrises consisting of modern and older buildings. Directly abouve that(north of the buisness district) will be a small Midtown consisting of a large plaza, a hospital, and large park. Then directly west of the Residential district will be a Arts district, and the Olde Town. Then, Northwest of the Arts district and the Midtown will be a small entertainment district(Based off of Bricktown in Oklahoma City). Then after that will be LOTS of lowrises, and endless rows of houses. This part of the city is based on Oklahoma City.Oh and of course, the Midtown will most likely be based off of Oklahoma City, and a little bit of St. Louis.

Anyways here is what I'm working on right now:

The Sparks Hotel is based on a hotel in downtown Oklahoma City. You can probably tell if you know Oklahoma City well.

No comments Any thoughts?

Anyways I changed the textures on the Sparks Hotel.

SOO

Now, here is Midland's first ever church built right outside of Downtown Midland. It was one of the first buildings ever built in Midland's and was built by the settlers of Midland.

And here is a international box style midrise, right outside of downtown. Of course since the Box era in Midland was in the late 60's/early 70's, so it was built in 1972.The very right lowrise to the international box is the YMCA, and a welcome center for the tourists that come to Midland.

I still need to add a park on the church block.

Nice box Your curch is in need of some other texture i think. It looks more like an ordinary building.

May i ask you where you got your textures from?

This city feels nice and cozy - except for that InnerCorp Building. It is really massive compared to the other ones. I think it needs company. Maybe some equally fat but not as tall buildings would complement the skyline nicely.

i think that the block that has the church on it should redone with a bit denser of a block, or put a park there.

Yep, I already added a park there, but just didn't show it yet. I think I also said that in the church update, too.I think i'll add a small building there though beside the park. But thanks for commenting!
