The gif is real (not sure if staged or not), as for whether or not that is Tim Hortons (or even Canada), I honestly don't know. I posted it as a joke. It looks like a Perkins to me.

I wasn't having an asthma attack, but today I ran into unhelpful Tim Hortons employees at the location I frequent in Kingston. The WiFi was down while I was trying to get online on my mobile phone and another customer also couldn't get online on his laptop, so I brought it to the attention of a team member. He just shrugged and smugly said "Nothing I can do about it." I believe he's a supervisor.

What does it take to either fix the problem, or ask another employee or manager if you don't know? I've been around enough IT people to know that WiFi problems can usually be fixed with a simple power cycle or reset on the router.

Between that and last week's incident in London, I'm not feeling very happy about supporting this Canadian company right now. Looks like Starbucks, McDonalds, and the local cafes are going to start getting more money from me. There was an article in one of the national papers last week about how Tim Hortons' sales are down nationally, and I think I'm seeing why. Selling panini sandwiches isn't going to win back customers.

what time of day were you there? if it was between 9am-11am, noon-2:30, or 5-6:30, chances are you were in the middle of one of the breakfast, lunch, or dinner rushes. It is often difficult for even supervisors to assist you when there are 20 cars backed out of the drive through and the interior completely full of people, especially since fast food places only schedule minimal man hours that still ensure fast times (regardless of service quality)

if it wasn't any of those times, the employees more than likely could have (and should have) been able to assist you in the wifi problem.

Between 11pm and 5am, almost all of our Tim Hortonses have only one person on staff. I went for a middle-of-the-night bike ride last summer and stopped at one to get a drink, I waited almost 10 minutes and it was nearly 1am. The sole employee had to manage the store (including cleaning), the drive through, and the Cold Stone Creamery thing, which apparently is also 24/7.

On the Greyhound trips between here and Winnipeg, most stops on the way were beside a Tim Hortons, and I usually managed to get back to the bus just a couple minutes before it took off again. The layovers are 20 minutes... The Kenora stop was just before 6am on the way to Winnipeg so it was fully staffed but otherwise it wasn't a very enjoyable experience. Since the bus is a daily scheduled thing you'd think they would work it into their business plan.

It was about 1:00, but that's after lunch rush at this particular location. The location is next to the Wolfe Island ferry dock and gets spurts of customers near the ferry's departure and arrival times, and otherwise is pretty dead. Most people who work in the area go to a Starbucks a couple blocks away, or to the independent Coffee & Co. which is near Starbucks.

won a free coffee, which lead to another free coffee, and then another, and from, that, a free donut.

Making up for my earlier drought. Haven't yet done the mad dance of the Toyota winner.

Tim Horton's plan to make MolsonExport buy a lot of coffee worked, and he has been justly rewarded.

there are weeks when coffee substitutes for blood. These past two weeks necessitated considerable coffee to get through a shitload of work. And having 17 TH on campus does not help the situation.

Running 8 for 12. Just as planned. Next stop: $5000 prepaid Mastercard. Final Destination: underpowered four-pot station wagon on stilts.

By the way, Vid, those gifs are hilarious.

Didn't even bother with Tim's today. Stars & Bucks for me.

If the downtown Kingston Hortons location can get its problems fixed, I'll go more often.
