No it's definitely that building, you can tell from the photos on the website. Maybe they got some sort of variance? Or it's a live-work building? Don't know, but that's it.

The new apartments at River and Nassau are going up QUICK. And the design quality contrast between it and Conrad House across the street are quite stark. The windows are really small and sparse.

Looks like it's been used as an office building since at least 2004. There must be a variance. Interesting that there seems to be no signage outside.

Interesting update into the OV BIZ:

http://clkapps.winnipeg.ca/DMIS/View...ctionId=573666

"1. Thirty-five (35) Non-Sufficient Fund (NSF) transactions with fees totaling $1,207.00.
2. Fifty (50) transactions without proper supporting documentation.
3. Thirty-seven (37) cheques with inadequate signatures.
4. Audited financial statements had not been submitted to the City for the preceding four years."

Yeah Meilleur siphoned all the money out of the BIZ before running for council with no one noticing for years and somehow hasn’t been criminally investigated. It’s remarkable. I spoke to the BIZ and they said it will take them a few years to recover. All the rest of the streets cape upgrades are on hold indefinitely.

They’re currently redoing all the new concrete around the brand new decorative lighting. Not sure what happened.

More details of the big property sale in the WFP. New owner wants to eventually redevelop into mixed use, but would be at least 2 years away. Wants to consult planers and neighbourhood first. Interestingly it notes Gags Unlimited is the only business still operating, the others closed.

^ Hopefully it leads to something. As things stand, Confusion Corner is way less than what it should be.

Developer who has seemingly only done SFR in the far suburbs and sees the starting line on a project as two years from now...

A shame Osborne Street has a four storey height limit.

The PPP project up the street is going to be six storeys, so I'm sure they could get a variance.

Even four storeys along there (it's currently two two-storey buildings, a one-storey building, and a parking lot) would be great, but it sounds like this one will be a long time coming.

I think directly on Osborne the height limit is 6-8.

Whats your ideal height for Osborne Street? If I remember correctly you were against the Gas Station Theater expansion based on its height which was only 10~ stories as it was out of scale with the rest of the street. 4 seems to be in scale with what that stretch of Osborne is.

Ideal spot for high density transit oriented design multiuse tower 15 floors for more.

How did Osborne Street get flagged for shorties like that?

Poor planning like this has stalled growth in the Village and Corydon areas. Sure there are projects all over that have gone up, but they are all small and barely make a dent in growth.

Walked by the old Dairy Maid. There's now both a SOLD sign on it... and a new FOR LEASE sign.

I wouldn't hold your breath about this site getting developed any time soon if they're trying to lease it out.

I heard two years approx for any new project. They don't even know what they want to build there other than the possibility of some kind of mixed use residential.

Anyone know what's going on with the Osborne Village Inn site? Is the project still a go?

I'm just down the street. There's been a lot of utility work happening that I think is related to this development, though the site itself has been quiet...
